I was hoping that by the end of the year, I’d have read at least 10 books but sadly, your girl somehow only managed to read 3.
3 – what the actual fuck?!
Started reading frequently when I was in grade 7 and I was constantly checking books out of the school library (I think I even lost a few).
Back then I was into Sweet Valley High and I could just never get enough. The action, mystery and romance; I loved getting sucked right into the story to the point where I couldn’t put the book down until finished it because I found it so intriguing.
That was when my love for the written art began. My nose was constantly in a book!
I got older and as they say “life got in the way” and I read less and less as time went on.
Sometimes I miss the old me, the one who always made time to read. I’ve tried to read more serious books like the self-help type but those are just not MY thing, in fact, I have a book that was bought for me years ago and I have yet to finish it but I guess you’re meant to take your time with those because they give you “homework” to do but I’m pretty sure I wasn’t supposed to take years (hahahah).
Most of the books I’ve read in the past are part of a series and have had great movie adaptations, some examples are The Hunger Games and The Fault in our Stars. I must admit I do get a little annoyed when what I read in the book doesn’t quite translate on-screen, but that’s just me.
Of course, when we read stories we paint our own pictures in our heads so it’s understandable when sometimes those pictures aren’t quite the same.
If you’re looking for ideas on books to read you can check out the ones on my list.

If you’re not a person who enjoys reading at the moment then I’d suggest you give it another try as reading is a great hobby to pursue in life.
Maybe you just haven’t found the right type of author or book for you yet. Maybe the books on my list could change your mind… or not, who knows?
