When did you start blogging and what inspired you to become a blogger?

I started blogging at the end of July. I was thinking of starting earlier, as I had time for it because of quarantine. I’ve always loved writing, even as a young girl.

I used to want to be a journalist but pushed it aside because people told me it was a dying career and I wouldn’t go far. So I went with studying psychology. But now, I don’t listen to other’s opinions and decided to finally do this because it’s something I’ve always wanted to do.

What was the inspiration behind the title of your blog?

Honestly, I don’t know how I came up with Mind.Beauty.Simplicity. I think I just combined 3 things I enjoy which is psychology, makeup and minimalism. And it kind of had a nice ring to it.

Where do you draw inspiration for your blog posts from?

My life – I love sharing personal stories pertaining to the topic. But I’ve also been influenced by Youtube, podcasts & reading a lot.

Who is your ideal reader?

I just want my readers to learn something from my posts. Maybe even change their habits & mindset of the world. I want to spread positivity & awareness of living with less & more intentional.

What do you love most about being a blogger?

I love sharing my thoughts with people all around the world. The blogging community is so positive & supportive. I like that I’ve come across tons of like-minded individuals.

I love receiving comments & feedback about my work & knowing they get something out of my words.

Are you an avid reader and if so what kind of books do you enjoy reading? What’s your most recent read?

I love reading. Currently, I am reading Turning the Key by Ruth Ware. She is an amazing author. I love mystery & thriller novels but I also love biographies & self-help books as well. I love growing as a person.

Which tools are you using to help run your blog and which ones do you highly recommend?

I use most social media platforms such as Instagram & Twitter. These really help in gaining traffic and getting my work sent out to many people. I think having different platforms is a great way for bloggers to gain a following.

Which of the posts you’ve written is your favourite, please give us a short summary?

There are so many I could list. But my favorite is You Are Not Defined By Your Possessions. It’s a post I wrote at the beginning of quarantine. I learned so much about simple living during this time, and how I truly don’t need much to be happy. And I think everyone could benefit from reading this.

What advice would you like to give to someone who is considering starting a blog?

Just start! I for one, wish I had started sooner. But better late than never. I think if blogging is a passion & you need a creative outlet like I did, it’s a great hobby & even job.

I also recommend you support other bloggers in the community. How are you going to have people read your work if you don’t read there’s? It’s so important to support one another & spread kindness. Especially now, when the world really needs positivity.

What’s the most important thing a blogger must do before and after they publish a blog post?

Before: PROOFREAD! PROOFREAD! & PROOFREAD again! And of course, write from the heart. Post topics you love & the followers will come. After: PROMOTE YOUR WORK! Blogging is seriously a hustle.

Writing is one thing, but the promotion after is what takes work. And don’t feel guilty spreading the word. Share your stuff on all platforms multiple times. Email it to people. Post pictures on Instagram related to your post.

Be proud of your work & share it with the world.

Lastly, what do you love most about the holiday season and do you have any family Christmas traditions?

I love spending time with my family. We used to visit my grandmother on Christmas Eve with my extended family. But now, since she is no longer with us we keep things simple. We have a nice dinner and sometimes go to a tree lighting.

A new tradition my boyfriend and I have is waking up Christmas morning and going to his parent’s house in matching pajamas.

And that’s a wrap!
