How To Ensure You Always Have Fresh Content on Your Blog

Welcome to my blog!

In this post, I’ll be sharing ways that you, as a blogger, can ensure a constant supply of fresh, engaging and exciting content for your audience to enjoy.

Blogging is lots of work and there isn’t always time to write posts on the day and sometimes we experience writer’s block; which is why I prefer to schedule all of my posts in advance.

As we speak, I already have enough content lined up for you guys to enjoy for the next 2 months. If you want to know how I managed to do that then stick around…

How To Ensure You Always Have Fresh Blog Content

Here’s what you can do to ensure you always have fresh content up on your blog:

Write your blog posts in advance and schedule them

This is exactly what I do! I couldn’t keep up with writing posts on publishing day anymore and luckily WordPress has the option to schedule the publishing of blog posts in advance.

Even if you’re away or get busy, your blog readers will always be fed fresh, engaging content.

Solicit guest posts

Ask other bloggers in your niche to submit guest posts for your blog.

This is a great way to get new content if you’re experiencing writer’s block and can also introduce your blog to your guest blogger’s audience.

You can find people to contribute a post or 2 to your blog on various social media platforms. Facebook blogger groups are a great source of guest posters.

In case you didn’t know, I also accept guest posts on my blog, all you gotta do is get in touch with me.

Interview others on your blog

I do this through my Creative Corner series. If you haven’t checked it out then you have to do so right this second!

The series is quite popular and I feature creative individuals from all walks of life. It used to be called “Meet the Blogger” back when it was focused on bloggers, but it has grown to include podcasters, writers and artists.

If you’d like to be a part of the Creative Corner, drop me an email at weirdnliberated@gmail.com.

The most recent interview at the time of writing this post was with author Peter-Shaun Tyrell. Check it out!

Research blog topics for your niche

When you can’t come up with content ideas, Google is always there for you!

You can also use platforms such as Quora to see what kinda questions people are asking and write blog posts to answer them.

Look at industry trends that tie with your blog niche and come up with topics for your blog posts based on that.

Reading more popular bloggers blogs and seeing what kind of posts are gaining the most traction on their sites is also a good way to come up with content ideas for your own posts.

Remember to credit people if you use their work and don’t plagiarize. That is the worst thing you can do for your blog! Your audience wants to hear what YOU have to say, not a copy and paste of something they’ve seen before.

Ask your audience

Personally, this one has never worked for me but maybe my approach was wrong hahaha…

Asking your blog readers what they would like to see would be a huge help especially because you know they’ll actually read the posts if they’ve personally requested the topics.

You can ask them through the various social media platforms that you use for your blog either directly or via poll.

Also, look at the comments on your already published posts to see what your audience is keen to hear you write about and which topics that they want you to expand on.

Be inspired by everything

By this I mean you should try to find inspiration all around you. It’s there I promise you.

I get blog post ideas all the time and I’m constantly making notes on my phone, whether I’m watching a movie, talking to a friend or being a bystander at the mall. I tell you, inspiration really is everywhere.

Sometimes I overhear conversations that have nothing to do with me and it sparks creativity then boom… a new blog post!

Podcasts are a great source of inspiration for me. I’ve come up with a number of blog posts stemming from podcasts. I’m currently obsessed with EmpowerHER.

Look at your older popular posts and expand on them

Have a look at the posts you’ve written in the past that were quite a hit and see if you can expand on them a little and turn them into a new blog post.

Add a link to the new post on the old one and vice versa that way you’re also link building and ensuring your viewers get to see your other posts on the subject as well.

50 Lifestyle Blog Post Ideas

Use Your Social Media

Social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and especially Pinterest are TEEMING with ideas that you can utilise for blog posts.

I have found plenty of pins covering lifestyle blog post ideas (because I’m a lifestyle blogger) but there are many things for everyone.

By the way, if you aren’t already following me on Pinterest, you can do so here.

Look at what people are discussing on social media and write about that.

You can also use YouTube to see what’s trending and which types of videos are getting the most views and likes and create written content around them.

Read

If you know me, you’ll know that I’m always advocating for reading. It’s my favourite past time.

Reading is a great way to boost your imagination and get those creative juices flowing.

You could end up discovering hidden gems of blog posts based on characters or storylines from the books you read. They say that if you read every day, you’ll never run out of content ideas and you’ll end up with an endless supply of blog posts.

These are tips that I’ve picked up along the way from others that have also helped me in my times of need. It’s not always easy to create fresh blog content but it’s nothing you should stress about because as you can see, you have options.

To conclude, using these tips will go a long way to help you with your blog content creation. They can be useful for all types of content creation.

Let me know what you thought of these tips in the comments and share a few of your own.
