Why You Should Collaborate With Other Bloggers

Welcome back to my blog! If you’re new here, good to see you and thanks for popping. Today you’ll hear why you should collaborate with other bloggers.

If you ask me, blogging is a team sport. It is NOT a “1 man show”. Collaborations are a huge part of the blogging community and are encouraged.

I’ve done a few collaborations myself and have even contributed to some blogs through guest posting. I’m hoping to do a hell of a lot more of that in future!

What Is Collaborating?

Collaborating is when a blogger works with another blogger to produce something.

Bloggers can collaborate with brands, companies, as well as other bloggers. Collaborations can turn out to be quite lucrative for all parties involved when done right.

Here’s Why YOU Should Collaborate With Bloggers

To increase your DA

According to From Zero to Blog Hero, DA (domain authority) is a blog scoring system that assigns a score out of 100 (100 being the goal) to your site to determine how much authority it has on Google.

The higher your DA, the higher your chances of appearing on the first page of a Google search. That’s the goal and it’s great for blog traffic!

So, collaborating through guest posts is a great way to help increase your blog’s DA.

To gain exposure to a new audience and in turn, grow your audience

If you want to grow your blog then collaborations are a great way to go about it. Whether it is you working on 1 post with another blogger or guest posting.

You’ll be exposed to the other blogger’s audience and they could end up being loyal followers and readers of your blog.

Grow your social media following

When you work with other bloggers and they link to your social media, it helps you gain new followers and grow your own social media following.

To build your own brand

This is tied to the point above.

To help build your own brand you’ll need to gain exposure and grow your audience. If you plan to make money from your blog then building your brand and familiarising others with it is key to monetization.

To teach and gain knowledge

Bloggers, such as Coffee With Summer, say that collaborations are a great way for bloggers to teach and gain additional knowledge.

We all have something to learn from each other. I have personally picked up a trick or two through collaborations. I could do something one way and someone will suggest a better or smarter way to go about it that I might never have thought of.

It’s fun

Working with other bloggers can be loads of fun if done right. Personally, I enjoy chatting to and getting to know the people I work with a little more.

Builds lasting relationships

Collaborations have the potential to turn into lasting relationships (possibly friendships) that are mutually beneficial in the sense that you gain support and companionship from the bloggers you work with.

You could end up becoming friends with someone who’s on the other side of the world!

As you can see from the points above, it’s mutually beneficial to work with other bloggers and helps you to grow your own blog and brand as well.

It may seem scary to work with other bloggers; especially if you are still new to the game but you should most definitely do it. I can personally attest to how blogger collaborations have helped me grow my own blog. I’ve done this by conducting interviews and accepting guest posts.

Speaking of collaborating with other bloggers; if you’d like to submit a guest post or be interviewed on Weird & Liberated, please email me at weirdnliberated@gmail.com. We’ll set it up!

I’ve done 1 or 2 guest posts on other blogs myself and that definitely introduced me to a new audience.
