Creative Corner: Lusine – My blog, coffee & camera!

Hello lovely readers!

I’m back from my mini hiatus with a fun interview for you to enjoy.

Grab a cuppa tea, coffee or whatever floats your boat and let me entertain you for the next few minutes while introducing you to a brilliant creative.

I’d like you to meet Lusine, a lifestyle blogger, amateur photographer, coffee lover, introvert and creator of the blog My blog, coffee & camera! where they bring you into their caffeinated and introverted world filled with photography, lettering, baking and anything handmade. Truly a blog for creative types to enjoy.

Let’s get to know more about Lusine …

Lusine – My blog, coffee & camera creator

What inspired you to start your own blog?

I started my first blog which was a teaching one, named Enjoy Teaching English (I am an EFL teacher) as an online depository for my teaching resources. Besides, back then Linky Parties were pretty popular and it was always fun to participate and interact with fellow teachers.

Later on, I got to know some lifestyle bloggers who hosted monthly Writing Challenges for Bloggers and I felt the urge to create a second blog where I would express my thoughts on topics other than teaching and share my amateur photos hence, I created My blog, coffee and camera!

How long have you been blogging?

I created My blog, coffee and camera! back in 2013 when I got a camera as a gift. Over the years, my blog evolved into a place where I started sharing my introverted and coffee-related thoughts. I started my social media accounts in 2017, which has been a great way to connect with my followers and share new posts as they happen.

Who is your ideal reader?

Introverted souls who are on a journey of self-acceptance and self-discovery and want to connect with fellow introverts. Coffee Lovers who relish slowing down, visiting coffee shops and spending quality time alone. People with a creative spirit who are always learning and attempting new things. Baking Lovers, who enjoy experimenting with simple and easy recipes. Homebodies, who love their own company and never feel lonely when alone.

And simply people who vibe with my personality and lifestyle:)

Describe your writing process.

I am not a planning person; instead, I just dump down my ideas whenever they come to me. After some procrastination and waiting for inspiration to strike, I sit down to write, and the ideas come to me as they naturally should.

Writing is a process, and the beauty of it is that you can’t know where your mind and imagination will lead you till you start writing.

To support my writing, I also read a ton of references and conduct lots of research.

What are your must-have blogging tools?

I’ve been using Canva for the graphics and visual designs, and I doubt there is a better app. Recently, I came across several useful copywriting websites that helped me organize and develop my ideas more effectively when I ran out of words and idioms. I heartily endorse Copy.ai, QuillBot, and HyperWrite, all of which I currently use.

Do you have any other creative talents besides writing? What are they?

As I keep saying, “My hobby is learning new things”. I am a fan of everything handmade and beautiful. I’m currently trying to turn my obsessions with hand lettering, macramé, and dot painting into side hustles because, as an introvert, I like working from home. Another hobby of mine that I hope to make a career out of someday is photography.

How has your blog evolved since you started?

Simple Wordless Wednesday posts that I first created to showcase my amateur images online gradually evolved into a real blog. The one-month writing challenge set up by a fellow blogger, for whom I will always be thankful, was what really helped me gain confidence in my writing. I gave it my all while writing about several subjects before I found and settled on my writing niches.

My blog series “Introvert Interview” and “Coffee Lover Interview” are now my favourites since I enjoy connecting with other introverts and coffee lovers.

I also enjoy the Sunday Coffee Photo Battles I host on my Instagram page. It’s a fun vote-based competition among my followers, and the winner receives a custom name art hand-lettered by me.

How much time do you spend working on your blog? Do you write every day?

Unfortunately, I don’t find the time to update my blog every day. Being a full-time teacher and a mom, I only find enough time to write when school is out for summer:(

Besides, organic reach is getting more and more unachievable these days which is something discouraging for bloggers. I no longer have the motivation that I once did. I am more active on my social media accounts (however the organic reach isn’t any better over there either:(

How do you deal with negative comments from readers?

When you have a popular or a viral post—which I haven’t had many of—negative comments start to arrive. The handful that I did have were from random strangers; they didn’t have much of an impact on me, but they did make me smile, so I made an effort to joke back.

Because I am an empath and an overthinker and avoid provocative ideas or posts, I also generally take caution when writing not to hurt anyone’s feelings:)

Lastly, why should we subscribe to your blog?

Subscribe to my blog if you are genuinely interested to follow me along my journey. I never want to attract uninterested and passive followers. My blog is my virtual home and anyone who follows or subscribes is considered my guest.

I don’t seek fame or fans, my DMs are always open and I respond to all my comments so you are always welcome:)

Thank you Lusine for being such a superb guest and thanks for supporting my blog.
