I was feeling kind of shitty because of certain events that had unfolded that I found incredibly frustrating in my current situation.
Instead of dwelling on my bum mood though, I did what I had to do to get over it and I’ve decided to share a few ideas to get rid of my funky mood and since the power was out, what better time to sit down and write a new blog post? So here we are…

8 WAYS TO IMPROVE YOUR FUNKY MOOD
Prepare & Eat Your Favourite Meal
A sure-fire way to get your back in good spirits is to prepare and eat your favourite meal. If cooking is not your forte, you can always just order in.
Some people find the cooking process relaxing, so if you’re one of those people then cooking when you’re feeling down will help brighten your mood.
Go For a Walk & Get Some Fresh Air
Walking is a great exercise to calm your mind and help clear those bothersome thoughts.
I personally feel revitalised after a nice long walk when I’m having a crappy day.
Why You Should Ditch The Car & Walk
Play Your Favourite Song Really Loudly & Dance Your Ass Off
You know what they say, shake the stress away. Even Taylor Swift recommends doing this in her song “Shake it Off”, that girl knows what she is talking about.
Go to your room or anywhere where no one will bother you, turn the music up and dance your ass off.
Music is good for the soul and you will see a great improvement in your mood when you are done.
Do A Quick workout or Yoga
For me, working up a sweat melts all negative feelings away. I leave my workout feeling lighter, so I highly recommend you try working out whenever you’re feeling shitty.
Yoga is a great form of exercise, and it also helps to calm the body and mind. Give it a try and you will see for yourself the wonders of deep breathing and stretching.
One of my go-to quick workouts is Tae Bo 8 Minute Burn & Blast (also great to do when you’re feeling too lazy to work out because you’ll be done before you know it).
Call A Friend You Know Will Make You Laugh (laughter is the best medicine)
Laughter really is the best medicine.
You should have at least one go-to friend that you know is guaranteed to make you laugh until your stomach hurts so that you forget all your troubles. For me, one of these people is my sister.
Try Some Meditation
One of the benefits of doing meditation on the regular is that it helps to calm you and melts stress away.
Practising meditation daily will help improve your mood overall.
Journal
Writing down your thoughts and feelings in a journal can be a great way to rid yourself of any negative thoughts and feelings and help you reflect on whatever makes you feel sad and blue.
Get some sunlight
I promise you that sometimes all you need is a little vitamin D, and you will feel good as new.
The other day when I was feeling annoyed and tired of everything, I just took my book and picked a nice sunny spot to chill in and before I knew it, I was feeling a hell of a lot better.
I didn’t even read the book, turns out all I needed to cure me of my foul mood was a little sunshine and vitamin D.
So next time you’re in a funky mood, just give one of these 8 things a try and you’ll see how quickly you’ll get rid of all that negativity you’re feeling and get back to being your usual happy-go-lucky self.
