Things To Do On A Cold Winter Night

Winter seems to be creeping in early this year. It’s April and we’re already starting to freeze our asses off. Even when it’s been a hot day, once the sun goes down, it’s time to grab a jersey.

Winter isn’t one of my favourite seasons but what’s a girl to do but make the most of it?

A few things to do on a cold winter night:

Watch Movies or Binge-Watch Series

Being a homebody, this is my go-to ANYTIME but Winter is especially perfect for binge-watching because who wants to be out and about in the cold? Not me!

I mostly do this at home, curled up in a blanket with my kitten, Tokyo. But if you don’t want to do it alone then you should…

Host a Movie Marathon

I love, love, LOVE movie marathons!

The last one I did with my family was Marvel and still, we haven’t finished.

Sharing a few laughs with your loved ones while enjoying a good movie is a great bonding session.

Light a bonfire and chill with friends

I’ve never actually done this with friends, just family (and we only did it because the power was out) but it was super fun nonetheless.

This is a great time to really catch up and share and laughs stories with your friends.

Grab some marshmallows and biscuits and make some smores while you’re at it!

Enjoy a Long Steamy Bubble Bath

Cold winter nights are just PERFECT to indulge in self-care activities such as relaxing in a steamy bubble bath that just melts the stress away.

Get yourself some beautifully scented bubble baths, bath bombs, and salts to use next time you just want to soak in the tub.

P.S you could even get your partner to join you…

I will always advocate for reading!

Most of my reading is probably done in bed, in winter.

If you don’t want to read a book then you can enjoy some blog posts from some of your favourite bloggers.

Chill by the fireplace

Fireplaces were made for cold winter nights.

If you’re lucky to have one, then you probably know just how wonderful it is to grab a blanket, light a fire and just enjoy the warmth emanating from the fire while reading a book or just relaxing by yourself or with friends and family.

We’ve already got a stack of wood in the back just waiting for the next cold winter night.

Knit or Crochet

Some of you may think that is a hobby for grannies, but it’s absolutely not. Knitting and crocheting are great hobbies for anyone!

It’s great to sit in bed or by the fire and actually create something with your own hands.

Knitting is pretty easy (even though I’ve never actually finished making anything). You can learn how to knit and crochet on YouTube and find yourself a cute new hobby for winter.

I’ve saved the best for last!

I find cold weather to be the best for writing. I’m pretty sure I’ll get a ton of blog posts written in the next few months because if the cold weather.

If you’re good at writing, you could get started on that novel you’ve been dreaming about writing. Grab yourself a huge, steamy mug of hot chocolate and get to writing.

P.S if you hadn’t noticed, most of these cold, winter night suggestions are best-enjoyed fireside so go and stock up on wood (and popcorn)!
