What inspires you to write/blog and where do you get your ideas from?

I get ideas from everywhere. For the most part, I like to write about lessons that I’ve learned throughout my life to show women that they’re not alone in whatever they’re feeling.

What is your writing process, do blog posts come easily to you or do you spend lots of time on each one?

My writing process comes in waves. Sometimes they come to me easily, sometimes they take a little time. I would say it takes me anywhere from 1 day, to almost a week to complete a post.

How would you describe yourself?

Bourgeoisie hippie, curse word connoisseur, God’s princess, lover of all things beautiful.

What is your biggest fear?

My biggest fear is not creating a legacy for my generations. Oh, and feet, clowns, and spiders.

How do you de-stress after a long day?

After a long day, I allow myself an hour of me-time. Whether it’s watching trashy reality tv, scrolling social media, or just sitting in silence, I use that one hour to just focus on me.

What’s your favourite movie?

My favourite movie is Forest Gump.

What is your day job and what is your favourite thing about it?

I’m an Assistant Global Operations Manager for a creative agency. My favourite thing about it is that it stretches me. And for the first time in years, I truly love my job.

What do you do to keep fit?

I walk a lot. By me not driving, I’m forced to do a lot of walking to get myself from point a to b.

What is your favourite book?

My favourite book is Flyy Girl by Omar Tyree. My mother bought that book for me when I was in seventh grade, and I still find myself reading it well into my 30s.

What is the most difficult challenge you’ve ever had to overcome and how did you overcome it?

My most difficult challenge has been overcoming brokenness and learning how to forgive. In fact, that’s how I overcame it. I learned how to forgive myself and others, even when they didn’t apologize.

It’s so nice to “meet” people you have something in common with because Forest Gump is one of my faves too…
