When I started blogging for the very first time, I was in a pretty dark place.
SO MUCH has changed since then and so has my blogging.
Blogging is how I share my thoughts, feelings, and ideas with the world. It’s a way for me to express myself without any fear of judgment or holding back and I absolutely LOVE it.
Running your own blog is a great hobby but it can be so much more than just a blog, well at least to me.
So How Has Blogging Impacted My Life?
It’s helped me connect with people
Blogging has connected me with so many like-minded and brilliant people who are so positive that they bring positivity into my life. Even when I’m feeling blue, the blogging community somehow always lifts my spirit.
My blog has been my friend and confidant on the days when I felt sad and alone. When I write, it’s like I always have someone to talk to and it helps to get all the negative feelings out by expressing them in a healthy way through writing, even if no one is actually going to read it. Once it’s “on paper”, it’s out of my mind and I won’t focus on it.
One of the greatest things about blogging is interacting with your readers through the comments section.
It’s amazing when people can relate to and really connect with what you’re saying in a post.
It’s given me something to look forward to
Blogging has given me something to look forward to because I’m constantly working on new ideas for blog posts and creating content. Sometimes I’ll be lying in bed and an idea just pops up and I’ll pick up my phone and type it in my blog app before the thought escapes me.
There are always blog posts to be written or posts from others to be read.
I really look forward to writing, editing posts and scheduling them for my readers to enjoy.
Blogging Keeps Me Busy
Having a blog keeps you pretty busy!
Even if you’re not writing new content, there’s older content that needs to be updated with new information.
Blog posts also need to be promoted and there are various platforms to do so. I have to create pins for Pinterest, tweet multiple times a day to keep my audience engaged and get my posts out there. I also connect and share ideas with other bloggers and participate in multiple social media groups.
If I slack, I can see the impact on my page views and engagement.
It’s crazy how fast time goes by when you’re busy blogging.
Improved My Writing Skills & Vocabulary
Through blogging, I have improved my writing skills and I believe I have also expanded my vocabulary.
The more you do something, the better you become at it and it’s the same when it comes to blogging.
I have learnt so many words and different ways of saying things because I have to make my writing sound interesting and non-redundant if I want to keep the readers coming back.
Writing has always been something I enjoy.
My blog has given me the confidence to believe I can achieve whatever I put my mind to. Before I had a blog, at times I felt useless and talentless, and like I had nothing worthwhile to contribute to society. But this is it, this is my contribution to society, my blog. Whether someone reads my post and I make them laugh or they find something on my blog that they can relate to that can perhaps encourage them or give them hope for their situation. Well, that’s what I hope my blog is achieving anyway.
Blogging is an awesome way to express yourself and show off your creativity and writing skills. You also get to connect with all sorts of awesome people through your blog. If you’re thinking of starting a blog to share your life and interests I encourage you to give it a try.
Blogging could change your life!
