Awesome Reasons To Love Remote Work

The Covid pandemic affected many peoples jobs and livelihoods and highlighted the importance of remote work. Many still haven’t returned to an office because it turned out working remotely made their employers realise it wasn’t necessary for them to physically be in an office.

I started a new remote job at the beginning of the year and let me tell you, it’s way better than working a 9 to 5 and travelling to work every day.

In this post, I’ll be sharing a few awesome reasons to love remote work.

Reasons To Love Remote Work

No Need For A Work Wardrobe

Working from home means there’s no longer a need to have a separate “work wardrobe”, you can where whatever you want.

You Can Set Your Own Work Schedule

You get to set your own limits (taking into consideration the tasks you must complete, of course).

There’s no one watching you to see what you spend your time doing. You can take breaks as often as you like and decide how and when you tackle which tasks. You decide how hard you want to push yourself each day.

Work More Comfortably

You can work from just about anywhere, including your own comfy bed or sofa and when it comes to work attire, you can wear whatever you want (or nothing at all) and work in complete comfort.

There’s no need to confine yourself to a work desk if you don’t want to.

Personally, the sofa is where I do a lot of my work on weekends, in my pyjamas with a nice cuppa hot chocolate in hand.

I find that being comfortable allows for greater productivity.

Less Office Space Required

If your staff works from home, there’s no need to incur costs renting out or buying huge office spaces; which means there’s more profit made or more money to spend on other things.

Saves Money on Transport Costs

With the way fuel prices are set up right now, working from home and eliminating the commute saves you a ton in petrol money. This is a huge blessing and means less money leaving your pockets.

Provides More Flexibility

Working remotely gives you more freedom and flexibility.

How?

Well, you get to decide how to spend your work day. Ordinarily, there might have been a few personal things you couldn’t do during your work day due to work restrictions. Now that those have fallen away, you can fit in your personal tasks anytime.

For example, maybe the only free time you had before to do your laundry was Saturday mornings on your day off, now you can throw your laundry in the machine, start working then hang it up during your break. Now you’ll have more free time on Saturday because you’ve already eliminated one weekend chore.

Spending More Time With Your Loved Ones

Working remotely actually gives you more time.

There’s no longer time wasted on commuting, preparing for work etc. so there’s more time available to spend with your loved ones, doing the things you love.

In conclusion, remote working has been one of the greatest things to ever happen to me. I was stoked when I found a job that I could do just about anywhere that allowed for so much flexibility.
