Creative Corner: Pastor Natalie – Examine This Moment blog

Welcome back to my blog!

I’m so glad you stopped by. To the newbies and all of my awesome followers, welcome to a new edition of Creative Corner.

I am hoping to thoroughly entertain you and introduce you to a new blogger you can admire and follow.

Our guest today is the sweet Pastor Natalie, who started the blog Examine This Moment, where you’ll discover “encouragement, laughter and real-life moments!”.

Pastor Natalie says that, over time, she’s come to realize that we must take pauses or we’ll just experience life passing us by quickly and that every day there are several moments that we could all talk about and be an encouragement to others.

This is what pastor Natalie had to say…

First, I want to sincerely thank you, Weird & Liberated for having me as your guest. I love your interview questions.

What inspires you to write and where do you get your ideas from?

I have a passion to bring encouragement to others as often as I can. This is what honestly propels me in my writing. Over time, I have come to realize that we must take pauses or else we are just experiencing life passing us by quickly! There are so many moments we can talk about, that I believe it is important that we “pause” and take time to “Examine This Moment”, every day!

With this said, I am constantly getting ideas for a variety of moments I can write about it.

How long have you been blogging for and why did you start?

I have been blogging for almost 5 years. I began writing to bring encouragement about our everyday moments we each are experiencing. I wanted to have a place where my readers can be inspired to reflect on real-life moments we can learn about and become more attentive to.

Currently, I am excited and have been working on updating my blog this year and am still in the process.

Who is your blog’s target audience?

Honestly, I want to reach as many as possible. I would say that I do not have a specific audience I am targeting. It brings me joy knowing that my readers leave encouraged and want to continue to read more.

What is your writing process, do blog posts come easily to you or do you spend lots of time on each one?

I am constantly getting ideas to write and really wish I had more time to write more. Writing for me comes easily, as there are so many moments to write about. There are times that I am putting notes on my phone about a variety of ideas and I will go back to them to write about.

What was the inspiration behind the title of your blog Examine This Moment?

As stated previously, over time, I have come to realize that we must take pauses or we are just experiencing life passing us by quickly! There are so many moments we can talk about that I believe it is important that we “pause”, and take time to “Examine This Moment” every day!

Which social media platform has contributed the most to your blog’s growth and how do you utilize it effectively?

For me personally, I have seen a lot of growth specifically on Twitter over this past year. However, I have definitely also increased in growth on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.

Which one of your blog posts do we definitely have to check out?

I definitely would like readers to take a moment to read, “Be Original.

”To be a content creator means just that, ‘to be original in your creation of content.’ Be authentic to your skill, art, and your calling. You won’t have to be identical to someone else when you are being genuine in life.

What do you find most challenging about blogging and how do you overcome it?

One of my biggest challenges is finding time to write as much as I would like. I purposely have decided over this past year to write more and have been able to do so, thankfully. I decided to start my day an hour earlier and that has completely helped me in organizing my time better.

Which tools do you use to manage your blog and help you keep up with all of your blogging tasks?

As a writer, I have appreciated WordPress. They have several plugins that help with SEO and so much more. I really like that I can schedule a post as well. I continue to learn more about other tools and am very open to implementing them too in the future.

What does success look like to you?

For me, success is ongoing. It is not in the big things but the little accomplishments as well. I like to think of it as ‘every step forward matters.’ I also believe we can learn from our mistakes and still maintain steady growth and goal achievements. I like to say, “You won’t know unless you tried.” I also consider having new subscribers, comments and shares of my blog as a success.

I really have appreciated constantly meeting my readers and connecting with them on my blog as well on social media.
