Blogtober Blogging Advice

Many bloggers are partaking in Blogtober each year and I’m sure you’re wondering, “how in the hell do they do it?”

It’s probably more simple than it sounds to be able to publish fresh content every day.

The advice I’m going to give you is advice I wish I’d been given myself when I first started. Actually, some of it was actually given to me (via blog posts I’ve read), I just didn’t take it initially.

I’m sharing it with you today in the hopes that I’ll help you not to feel overwhelmed by having to publish fresh content daily and still be able to have awesome content each day for your awesome blog readers.

Blogtober Blogging Advice

Plan your content at the beginning of the year

I make use of Pinterest to continuously collect blog post ideas so you can do the same for the month of October. Pinterest is full of awesome blog post ideas and you can see what kind of posts are popular and work from there.

Save all your Blogtober ideas in one folder so you can have them ready when you want to start writing.

Schedule posts in advance

It makes your life so much easier if you schedule your blog posts in advance.

Scheduling your posts will allow you to better plan the flow of your posts, especially if you want them in a specific order and saves you time because you won’t have to keep pressing publish every day yourself.

Throughout the year I’ve been writing blog posts, they were supposed to be for Blogtober but I ended up deciding not to wait to publish.

Post scheduling is super convenient.

Make and schedule your pins in advance too

To save you tons of time obviously, just like in the point I made above. In fact, if you can you should try to schedule all your social media posts.

Accept guest posts or collabs

It may be a daunting task to have to come up with new content daily all on your own so why not accept guest posts from other bloggers.

It’s a great way to connect with other bloggers and hopefully, all parties gain exposure to a new audience which will help blogs to grow.

Take A Break

If you didn’t manage to schedule your posts in advance, it’s not a train smash. Some bloggers are writing daily and that’s okay. Do whatever works for you!

When you’re experiencing writer’s block and struggling to come up with content or you’re just feeling tired, stop staring at your screen hoping for some inspiration. Just take a break.

Go for a walk or do something you enjoy. Before you know it you’ll be feeling refreshed and inspired and ready to write some cracking posts for your readers.

Find inspiration on Pinterest

If you’re stuck on blog post ideas and don’t have enough to cover the whole month then Pinterest is a great source of inspiration.

There are so many Blogtober blog post idea themed posts that you can utilise to come up with great content for your blog.

You can find my Pinterest page here.

Just have fun with it!

I think this is the most important piece of advice I can give you.

Blogging, in general, is better when you’re actually having fun doing it.

Don’t get too caught up in the fact that you gotta post daily, just write about things and topics that interest you or you’ll get bored of the whole thing and possibly wanna quit.

Just have fun with it!

This is like my second time partaking in Blogtober and I must say that I think this time is going a lot better because I’m not freaking out.

If you have advice you’d like to share with other bloggers for Blogtober then please leave it in the comments.

Blogging is all about learning and growing and maybe you have some advice that could help me out too.

  1. this is such good advice! like you talk about, i prepared early (July actually)LOL and I scheduled everything in advance. that’s how i’m taking on this challenge. but i also love how you mentioned taking breaks is ok. all in all, this challenge is just fun & a way to connect with the community. if you can’t do all 31 days, it’s ok! 🙂
