Self-Care Checklist – My Daily Checklist For Self-Care

Hello dear…

Welcome to my lifestyle blog. I am so glad you’ve come to join me and spend a little time with me. Today I’m sharing my daily self-care checklist with you.

I think self-care and prioritising taking care of yourself is essential for a healthy lifestyle. there are so many benefits of self-care; which I shared with you a while back in the post “Why Self-Care Is Important”.

Loving yourself is a major part of self-care too. You can read my previous post about how I love myself here.

MY DAILY SELF-CARE CHECKLIST

These are the items on my daily self-care checklist that I aim to do every single day.

Let The Fresh Air In

How I start my day, every day!

The first thing I do when I get out of bed is open my windows really wide and breathe in some fresh morning air.

After that, I go and make my morning coffee and enjoy it on the balcony or by the dining table with the door wide open so I can get a nice dose of that morning freshness to start my day.

Throughout the day I go and stand or sit outside for a bit. I am blessed to have such a great view here so being outside is such a treat!

Read

I love reading, it’s so calming and the perfect escape from reality; es[ecially when life gets rough.

I aim to read 30 minutes a day. If you missed my post about all the amazing benefits of reading, you can catch it here.

Drink 2L water

I have made it a point to fill my 2-litre bottle each morning and make sure I’ve downed it all by the time I’m ready for bed.

I do not drink enough water and I know this so I make it a point to keep my water bottle in clear sight so that whenever I see it and it’s not empty, I know to drink some water.

Take Multivitamins

Even back at home, my mom was always on my case about not taking my daily multivitamins. Your girl has the tendency to forget…

My multivitamins stay on my window sill so now they are one of the first things I see when I get out of bed and I remember to take them.

I don’t feel sick as often as I used to before I did this and I think this is the first time this year that I will actually need to go to the pharmacy for my refill.

My mom would be so happy lol.

Daily Workout

Working out is one of the BEST ways you can start your day!

I feel so light and ready to conquer anything after a great morning workout and I find it best to do it first thing in the morning because as the day goes by I feel lazier and the chances of me getting that daily workout in diminish by the hour.

Exercising for self-care

If I don’t feel like working out then I try to at least go for a walk because that’s also great exercise.

Brush teeth, floss and wash face before bed

I get so lazy to do this at the end of each but I have now made it a point to make sure that I do and to help ensure that, I do it after dinner so that I have no excuses.

Flossing is the one thing that I don’t do as much as I am supposed to and it worries me.

If you don’t floss, I want you to go grab a piece of floss right now, floss and sniff it then you’ll see why flossing is important and why you should also be doing it every night…

Flossing is vital if you want clean, healthy teeth and fresh breath.

Write

As you’ve probably seen, I am very consistent when it comes to blogging.

I feed you new posts weekly, like clockwork.

I am always working on writing something new because I find it therapeutic, even when I’m not sharing something personal. Like reading, writing for me is another great way to get a little bit of an escape from reality for just a little while as is part of my self-care regimen.

If it’s not a blog post that I’m writing then I just write a little in my journal.

Meditate

Meditation is one of those things I am working to get better at. I still get distracted way too easily.

I think it’s important to disconnect for a little while each day and get in touch with your inner self so I try to do this daily, ideally before I get out of my bed.

It’s wonderful to enjoy a few moments of silence and peace and just listen to your body before going about your day.

Sometimes I do it before I go to bed just to wind down.

You should give meditation a try too if you don’t do it already. It’s awesome because you can do it ANYWHERE and you’ll see how good and at peace with the world (and most importantly yourself) it makes you feel.

On some days I do Yoga!

meditation, a form of self-care

Our ideas of self-care aren’t always the same, do what works for you and what makes YOU feel good. You must create your own self-care checklist (whether daily or weekly).

Your mental and physical health is important and should be at the top of your priority list.
