How I’m Doing With My 2025 Goals

This year has flown by, and somehow my goal attainment flew to the wayside. How’s your year been thus far? Are you proud of how far you’ve come? Did you achieve what you set out to achieve? Seeing as this is the end of the year and all, it’s the perfect time to reflect.

I cannot believe there’s just 1 month left, like where did the time go? Sure, I’ve done a lot this year. But there’s still so much more I thought I was going to achieve that for some reason, I haven’t.

Anyways, there’s no need to fret. We still have time, and I’ve kicked into high gear, so LET’S DO THIS.

So here’s where we’re at:

I had set out to read 12 books this year, but I didn’t exactly pre-select them. I’ve just been finishing off books I started and for some reason forgot about, or reading the ones that jumped out at me first. 2 books have been successfully completed, one being the entire New Testament of the Bible and the other The Father by Anton Svensson (highly recommend if you’re into true crime). I’ve started a bunch of others, but with under a month left, the pressure is on ( in a good way). Don’t worry, I know reading is supposed to be fun, so when it stops being about enjoying the stories and more about just finishing, I’ll probably just accept defeat.

I am currently reading The Harvard Wife by Busisekile Khumalo, which I plan to finish this weekend.

I’m supposed to run 3 5k races, and I completed 1 last weekend, so just 2 to go. Wish me good luck. I just started running with a run club, so I’m looking forward to running with them more. I’m sure I can find 2 races by December 31st. To help me run long distances better, I’ve decided to try a more protein-rich diet. Now that I’ve purchased my Garmin, I can track my runs better and actually see if I’m improving, so I’m super excited about that.

I had a goal to complete 5 of Chloe Ting’s fitness challenges. I’m proud to say that I have accomplished that one!

My goal was to find a well-paying job, but I ended up getting a significant raise instead. You know what, I’ll take it!

I reckon I’ve made some good progress with my goals so far. Can’t wait to see how many more I’ll have achieved by New Year’s Eve.

So far, I’m proud of the fact that I haven’t given up, and I believe I can do this. It feels really good when you actually start checking items off your list of goals. I have to admit, ChatGPT has greatly assisted me. It has helped in setting realistic deadlines and breaking the goals up into milestones.

Going forward, I’ll be focusing more on reading and running. Hopefully, I’ll try to tick a few more things off the list. This includes visiting an art gallery.

As the end of this year draws nearer, I’d like to encourage you to keep pushing with your goals. You never know what you can achieve if you really put your mind to it, and it’s not too late. Your progress does not need to be perfect; you just need to make an effort. As my teacher used to say,

You can’t do better than your best
